Ethan Stock, Partner

Ethan is a thinker and entrepreneur who has worked in technology for over fifteen years. He began his career focused on financial database technologies.

As both an independent consultant and while at EDS, he completed significant projects for Fortune 500 companies including Rubbermaid, Goodyear, and GMAC.

In 1996, he founded Bamboo Systems, an early entrant into web-based CRM, focused on the full-service brokerage market. Subsequent to Bamboo Systems, he became a principal at technology strategy firm The McKenna Group, where he worked extensively with both startups and major multinationals in software and telecom.

In 2000, he became Chief Operating Officer of London-based, eBusinessMedia, the B2B internet arm of UK publisher United News & Media plc, and also served as a board director for the $200m revenues subsidiary, United Business Media International. At eBusinessMedia, he oversaw the creation of industry-specific portals and transactional markets ranging from UK agriculture to the international film production industry, including the first launch of CommerceOne in Europe.

Ethan became a partner at NetService Ventures Group in 2002. He holds a B.A. from Ohio State in history, and for three years was a National Science Foundation Graduate Fellow at U.C. Berkeley in the History of Science and Technology Ph.D. program.

Ethan is currently on leave from the partnership as the full-time CEO of Zvents . Ethan incubated Zvents at NSV in 2005, and NSV led Zvents' first round of funding.
