Michiko Sakamoto is an advisor to NetService Ventures Group and her role is to help NSVG develop business plans and manage client relationship primarily for the Japanese market. She is a strategic management consultant with a successful management background.
Prior to joining NSVG, Michiko was managing a high-end and well known hobby craft retailing chain called Hobbyra Hobbyre as COO. When she joined, Hobbyra Hobbyre had been unprofitable for three consecutive years and the CEO of the firm's parent company, who was her client at BCG, asked her to turn around the business. She managed the business to profitability within 6 months and changed it to a growing business within a year.
Before entering the general management role, she had worked for the Boston Consulting Group as Project Manager. Her expertise lay in consumer marketing especially in the high technology space. Michiko's extensive work with a leading Japanese mobile operator on their mobile internet strategy helped her develop valuable insights on the fixed mobile convergence business.
She holds an M.B.A. from INSEAD and a B.A. in law from the University of Tokyo.
