SingleFeed was developed through dozens of
conversations with small and medium sized
merchants who were struggling to submit their
products to shopping search engines like Google
Base, Yahoo! Shopping, Shopping.com, Shopzilla,
NexTag, and Pricegrabber. At the same time,
because of ComparisonEngines.com
(the industry blog penned by SingleFeed cofounder,
Brian Smith), and our relationships with the
shopping engines, we knew that the engines
themselves were less than impressed with the
quality of the product data feeds they were
getting from smaller merchants.
While getting ads up and running
on Google Adwords or Yahoo! Search Marketing
takes a couple hours, creating, submitting,
and managing a data feed for a shopping engine
is a much more difficult process.
SingleFeed has created a self-service
application to simplify that process for small
and medium sized merchants who don't have
the technical expertise or resources of large
ecommerce players. Once a data feed is up
and running, we teach merchants to focus on
data feed optimization (DFO) to achieve the
best possible results.
